“I went to Jason’s today and re-recorded the bass for Little Conversations…We recorded 5 or 6 mandolin tracks, each one a little different…you can choose which one you think works best. When we played them back all together it sounded like a community hall full of Ukrainians.” Albert Klassen quoting from Jason Overy’s #OvereezeeRecordingStudio.
Ah, echoes of my people.
blue dirt girl’s upcoming single, a cover of Johnette Napolatino’s song, little conversations, with Concrete Blonde in 1983, is coming in August 2017.
I heard searing synth part, inspired by playing with Vancouver based keyboardist, singer, musician songwriter, Lorraine Finch for the bridge. Jason worked it on his mini synth keyboard. We added choral synth harmonies. Now replaced with 5 string guitar part and multi mandolin parts all by super talented Vancouver based bass, mandolin, vocalist, songwriter Albert Klassen.
Wah pedal, mandolin, drums, percussion, acoustic guitar, vocals it’s a pretty great cover version of a classic song.
