Please note:
The Little Cow Concerts were created by two hard working, bright lights in the Vancouver music scene Megan Emanuel and Dan Ponich.
“The world is kind of a scary place right now. And I’m just the host of a concert series and the imaginary soap box I’m standing on feels pretty fragile. So I’m going to keep this tight.
But I think it’s important we acknowledge something. Rooms like this, filled with communities like this one are part of the landscape that keeps good people good in times like these.
We’ve seen that throughout history.
By being here, at a local, self funded event to pay local artists to perform their craft for you, you are doing radical work.
Not all of the work for change needs to feel like work.
Sometimes it’s just showing up for the things that matter to you. Showing up for art and for each other.
So give yourselves a hand for showing up.
Neither Meg or Dan make any money from these evenings. Monies go to rental of Zameen space and to the musicians.
For music fans they have created: an ‘old school’ (for those who used to go to the Railway Club, The Media Club.) venue where audience can see and hear the performances in an intimate space. bar with alcohol/non alcohol and snacks, Dan’s pro sound, and ticket prices are sliding scale so everyone is welcome.
