We are excited to announce our Via Rail Artist on Board trips departing Vancouver – Toronto 05.26.25 and returning Toronto – Vancouver 06.08.25.
Here is a sneak peak at our acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocal sound on the train.
Three shows a day plus it’s a must to play at any train station stops along the way. The stations acoustics are off the charts beautiful.
This is our second Via Rail Artist on Board Vancouver to Toronto and back trip. Just like the first time we will be altering our Blue Dirt Girl songs for acoustic guitar and mandolin with voice. In addition, in homage to our beautiful country, we will play songs written by Canadians artists.
Our first Via Rail Artist on Board trip was in 2019. Read 2019 train tour blog posts.
Our video application was an acoustic versions of Listen to the Birds and Heart’s Dreamboat Annie.
In 2019 the train tour was brilliant both musically and personally with simple astounding human connections.
Here is one conversation: “Somewhere east of the Rockies a guy got on the train and, as one does, got into a long conversation with Kathryn. The talk was light hearted and casual but as he was getting off the train, in Edson Saskatchewan, he dropped this bomb: “Well, this is my stop. I’m on my way to my daughter’s funeral.”
Any artist knows the feeling of being emotionally driven to create, and a shocking parting comment was the spark for Kathryn to write 5 Miles Out.
You will also find links to listen and watch our 5 Mile Out lyric video.
