It is unbelievable but true Blue Dirt Girl is celebrating her tenth year making music in her own curious way.
None of it would be possible without Albert Klassen, by Kathryn’s side, writing or co writing songs, recording bass, and occasional mandolin, in the studio and agreeing to all Kathryn’s intriguing show ideas and venues.
Thank you very much to all of you for supporting BlueDirtGirl’s music, shows and commenting on K’s blogs and YT videos, socials and sending reviews of our work.

The one constant has been her curiosity with what music she can create and with whom, where music can be played, and creating venue if necessary, constant studio recording and release of all genres of Blue Dirt Girl music, supporting a small but mighty group of known and unknown Vancouver and Vancouver Island artists and recording studios and most recently starting a dream project with Sight Curve. Kathryn leaves her guitar on the stand, creates lyrics and just sings. There is a definite 80’s dance club, Alison Moyet, Kate Bush and PJ Harvey vibe to her singing. Working with the Klassen’s, Albert and Josh, and their rare and varied talents and music knowledge is a gift.
We are celebrating Blue Dirt Girl’s 10th Anniversary with a series of House Concerts.
Each House Concert will have a set of Blue Dirt Girl’s new songs and their new trio, Sight Curve, will perform the second set.
Sight Curve is Kathryn and Albert new trio with Josh Klassen. Beats/loops/synth by Josh, Kathryn’s solo vocals and Albert on stand up and electric bass. Read all about Sight Curve here.

Kathryn reached out to good friends Paul and Paige, who hosted one of the first Blue Dirt Girl Crazy Beautiful Vancouver Island Tour shows, at their beautiful Pipers Lagoon home, on Vancouver Island, home back in 2016. They agreed to host an another concert this year.

Kathryn then reached out to good friends Catherine and Eric who hosted our very first Blue Dirt Girl House Concert in 2016, here in East Vancouver. They also agreed to host a 10th Anniversary House Concert this year. This is a fundraiser for Rain City Housing, as was our first show at Catharine and Eric’s in 2016.
Excited to have special guests: Vancouver poet Thinking Ship/Sophie Yendole opening this show with her terrific tales of wonder, guest Dan Ponich sitting in with Blue Dirt Girl.
~July 25th. Courtenay BC Outdoor 10th Anniversary House Concert. (Private)
Albert reached out to his brother Ernie and sis in law Kathy, they hosted a Blue Dirt Girl Outdoor House Concert, in Courtenay, last summer. They have agreed to host another House Concert on Friday July 25th. This is a Private House Concert.

~September 21st. 2 pm MacLean Park Festival Strathcona Park Vancouver BC Canada.
Our final 10th Anniversary show is Maclean Park Festival outdoor show. This is a solo Sight Curve show at 2 pm. It is a free show but cash donations are encouraged. (2 other bands perform that day at 3 and 4 pm) Show details here.
Last but not least Kathryn and Albert are celebrating 10 years making music together with BDG’s second Via Rail Vancouver to Toronto and Back Tour starting 05.26.25.
