So I had decided on my solo project, named it blue dirt girl now I needed a band.

Over the years I had the pleasure of, intermittently, both playing with live and recording, with my other music project Push3, Albert Klassen and Jason Overy.  I knew I wanted to work with these guys and create a blue dirt girl sound and style.

I began building my social media blue dirt girl personae, found a web person and got the web started, with my dear long time friend Lou, and formulated a plan to get my band together. I contacted Albert and Jason and they both agreed to play with me and my blue dirt girl.

In October ’15 Albert and I played as  duo, for the Garagemahal Backyard Concert acoustic performance, then we recorded a video of my new song Bled and Paid and posted in on blue dirt girl’s Youtube Channel with my Greg’s as video recorder.

We began working with my “Artist Women Freezing their Asses Off on Friday Mornings”  group members, Linda and Kiki, on a more formal live version of my Curling with Jack song for another Youtube post.

In the end the live video process was a bust, a great learning experience but a bust,  but I got  a lovely “from the cutting room floor” video of Curling with Jack on blue dirt girl ‘s Youtube Channel.

Albert and I began getting 2 sets of songs ready to rehearse and work through with Jason.

My good friends Eric and Catharine had wanted a House Concert and when they found out about my new project blue dirt girl they were keen to host our first concert and have a “give back”element with $5 from every ticket going to RainCity Housing.

I met with Jason and Albert and we started to work through our songs in the Fall of 2015 for the House Concert.  I could feel that this trio was going to work. We had to work out and through each of my songs and a distinct sound started to develop.

Albert and i continued to meet together, in the magic kitchen on Atlantic, and work through songs then meet at Jason’s studio and work through musical ideas with him.
